So I 2012 came fast. So much has changed since my last journal entry.

I was laid off in September, and have been going from crappy job interview to the next since then. I realized how useless I really am when I am unemployed lol. Without a schedule, I have no motivation to do anything, and I found myself staying up all hours of the night, but for no particular reason, and was very unproductive.... I got a part time job last month, but am still looking for something, but i don't know what...
I guess it's hard to find your dream job if you don't know what your dream job is yet. I'd like to be a cartoonist, that would be awesome...

My art started picking up in October with 2 art shows on the same weekend, and I sold some ties and skateboards. I got new business cards made, and I designed and printed a 16 page Dr. Shorty catalog of all my most recent tie, shoe, hat, skateboard and canvas designs. The catalogs were a huge success at the art shows, and now many other Basement Artists want to make their own.

I had a few awesome ideas for T-shirts with my comic designs on them. I got a few sample ones printed to put in the art show. I have yet to decide what to do with my results from the surveys...

The Christmas season was busy with the new job, art orders, and packing. Yes, packing! I moved AGAIN last month. This is the fourth apartment, area of town, and roomie since I moved to Ottawa 2.5 years ago. Although packing and moving is a big deal and can be very stressful for most people, I like it. I love the thrill of moving to a new place, having a new roomie, getting to know different bus routes...
My lease only runs until July so I will be moving AGAIN in the summer lol. Keeps it fresh!

A coworker at my new job has recently informed me that her husband does web design, and is in school for it. He needed a client for his final project, so he is building me a website! DRSHORTY.COM coming soon people so look out!!!

There is a Basement Artist show this weekend at Babylon Nightclub, downtown Ottawa for those who will be in the area. It's a great place to check out some awesome artwork, network with artists and businesses, listen to some live music, and chill with friends. It's an inspirational environment, you won't regret going! It's 7-10pm this Saturday, January 14th, tickets are $15 at the door, 19+  Hope to see you there!
